About the wiki
County of Fortune Wiki is an independent player resource for Nepos Games’ medieval county builder. We write practical guides, maintain a systems reference and try to be explicit when something is confirmed, observed or still unknown.
Who we are
We are a small editorial project made up of strategy-game players who enjoy production chains, regional logistics and the kind of political systems that make a county feel alive. We are not affiliated with Nepos Games or Aquila Interactive, and we do not speak for them.
The site is funded independently. There are no sponsored guides, paid placements or affiliate links in our recommendations. If that changes, the affected pages will say so clearly.
How we research
Our process is deliberately boring:
- Start with official material. The Steam store page, official website, Steam news posts, developer diaries and patch notes take priority over third-party videos.
- Check the public demo. Where a mechanic is visible in the demo, we verify the interface, tooltips and behaviour directly. Screenshots and product names in the wiki are drawn from the demo build.
- Cross-check community reports. Guides, forum posts and videos can reveal edge cases, but they are not treated as authoritative unless they match the official material or the demo.
- Label uncertainty. If a system is not fully documented, we say so. We do not invent exact numbers, recipes or release dates to fill a page.
- Update after patches. Early Access changes quickly. Pages carry an updated date, and mechanics that were reworked (mayors, cultures, construction points) are revised when the build changes.
County of Fortune is an Early Access game. Balance, UI and content can change between patches. If a guide disagrees with your build, trust the in-game tooltip first and tell us so we can update the page.
Sources we trust
- County of Fortune on Steam — store description, features, requirements and release information.
- Nepos Games official site — developer’s own feature and media pages.
- Steam news hub — dev diaries, patch notes and Early Access announcements.
- The public demo — the primary source for interface and gameplay details.
- Official Discord — community discussion and developer replies (used for leads, not as sole confirmation).
Corrections
We want to be corrected. If a building recipe, trade rule or release detail is wrong, send the page URL, the claim, the correct information and a source if you have one. Screenshots or a short clip from your build are especially useful.
Use the contact page or email [email protected]. We aim to review corrections within a few business days and will update the page’s modified date when a substantive change is made.
Independence and trademarks
County of Fortune Wiki is an unofficial fan site. “County of Fortune”, its logo and game artwork are trademarks or copyrights of Nepos Games and Aquila Interactive. We use official screenshots and logos for identification and commentary; we do not claim ownership of them.
Our guides are original editorial content. We do not republish developer text as a substitute for the official documentation, and we do not present speculation as fact. If you represent the developer or publisher and want a correction or removal, contact us.
